Washington 45, Oregon State 17

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Rashaan Shehee rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns and Brock Huard threw two scoring passes, as the seventh-ranked Washington Huskies pounded the Oregon State Beavers, 45-17. The contest was tied at halftime, but the Huskies exploded for five second half touchdowns as they improved to 6-1 this season and 4-0 in the Pac-10. The Beavers dropped to 3-4 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

Oregon State scored the only points of the first quarter on a Jose Cortez field goal. The 30-yard boot with less than five minutes to play in the opening quarter gave the Beavers a 3-0 lead.

Washington took the lead early in the second quarter. Shehee scored from one-yard out for a 7-3 advantage, but the lead changed hands again five minutes later.

Tim Alexander found Mike Jacot on a 10-yard scoring pass for a 10-7 advantage, however the Huskies knotted the game late in the second quarter.

Nick Lentz drilled a 34-yard field goal with 1:16 left in the first half, tying the contest at 10-10.

Washington broke the game open with three third quarter touchdowns. Shehee scored his second touchdown of the game, this one from two yards out, giving the Huskies a 17-10 lead with 9:40 to go in the quarter. Huard connected with Jerome Pathon on an 18-yard scoring strike with 5:28 left in the period for a 14- point advantage.

The barrage continued as Jason Harris scampered in from five yards out with only four seconds left in the quarter for a 31-10 cushion.

The Huskies continued the second half explosion with two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Huard hit Ja'Warren Hooker on a 40-yard scoring strike and Jabari Issa scooped up a fumble and returned it 16 yards into the end zone, putting Washington up 45-10.

Oregon State scored a meaningless late touchdown, as Tim Alexander hit Martin Maurer with a seven-yard TD pass.

Game Notes

Shehee has rushed for at least 100 yards in four consecutive games...Pathon caught a career-high nine passes for 109 yards. He is now sixth on the school's all-time receiving yardage list with 1,626. The all-time leader is Mario Bailey with 2,093...Pathon also moved into seventh place on Washington's all-time list in receptions with 97. The leader is Paul Skansi with 138...Huard was 17-of-25 for 219 yards and was intercepted once...Alexander completed eight-of-22 attempts for just 64 yards...Oregon State starting nose guard Bob McKane left the game after breaking his collar bone...Washington has won its last six Pac-10 road games and 10-of-11 dating back to the 1995 season...The Huskies lead the all-time series 52-26-4 and have won 10 straight against the Beavers.
