SEATTLE -- Toure Butler returned a kickoff 97 yards for a score and added a 35-yard fumble recovery for another, leading ninth-ranked Washington to a 20-10 win over No. 34 Brigham Young at Husky Stadium. The Huskies improves to 2-0 on the year while BYU falls to 1-2.

The hosts jumped out to 6-0 lead on their first possession of the opening quarter when Brock Huard stepped back and fired a 52-yard strike to Chris Juergens. The ensuing kick failed.

Washington tacked on eight more with 4:07 left before the half when Butler collected a fumble and darted down the field 35 yards for the score. Huard connected with Ja'Warren Hooker for the two-point conversion, giving the Huskies a 14-point cushion.

BYU finally got on the board two minutes into the third quarter when Owen Pochman set up from 24 yards out and put one through the uprights.

On the ensuing kickoff, Butler took the ball out of the air and went the distance for a 97-yard score and a 20-3 advantage.

The Cougars finally punched it into the end zone with 4:24 to go in the third when Kevin Feterik slammed through the line from one yard out to bring BYU to within 10.

GAME NOTES: Huard was 16-of-33 for 178 yards and two interceptions for Washington, while Feterik was also 16-for-33 for 169 yards and an interception in the losing cause...Juergens caughts three passes for 73 yards...BYU was penalized 11 times for 96 yards...Washington took four penalties for 35 yards...The Huskies have now won 13 consecutive home openers.
