SEATTLE - Ortege Jenkins' nine-yard touchdown run with four seconds remaining lifted unbeaten Arizona to a 31-28 victory over Washington in a Pac-10 Conference game Saturday night.

Mark McDonald's 37-yard field goal 50 seconds into the fourth quarter brought Arizona (5-0, 2-0 Pac-10) within 28-24, and the Wildcats received new life when Washington's Jim Skurski missed a 24-yard field goal with 2:52 to play.

Arizona responded with a drive to the Washington 1-yard line on Jenkins' 19-yard pass to Brandon Nash in the waning moments. But the Wildcats then moved backwards, first getting whistled for a false start before Jenkins was stopped for a three-yard loss.

Jenkins dropped back to pass on the next play and, finding no receivers -- and with Arizona without a timeout -- he took off up the middle. Jenkins reached the 3-yard line and leaped over linebackers Marques Hairston and Lester Towns and safety Brendan Jones, who hit him low. After doing a full somersault, Jenkins landed on his feet in the end zone for the winning score.

"I saw the hole open up, our guys were covered," Jenkins said. "I saw the two linebackers coming in. I fell short against Washington State last year and I did the best I could to get in. I went all out."

Jenkins completed 10-of-19 passes for 111 yards and one score for Arizona, which has won its first five games for the first time since 1993.

Backup quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo connected with true freshman Chris Juergens on a 15-yard touchdown pass with 1:27 to play in the third quarter to give Washington (2-2, 1-1) a 28-21 lead, which it would hold until the dramatic finish.

Tuiasosopo, in for the injured Brock Huard, connected on 7-of-14 passes for 77 yards and one score for Washington. Huard left the contest under his own power late in the second quarter after being hit by Wildcats defensive tackle Daniel Greer.

Prior to departing with what was termed a shoulder pointer, he had connected on 10-of-16 passes for 131 yards.
